BOOTSTRAP NOTES

Honest reflections from building Bootstrap Insider — one decision, one experiment, one lesson at a time.

Sent every Sunday.

When you start your entrepreneurial journey, you don’t have a ready-made network of like-minded people and entrepreneurs.

That’s a big challenge—but it’s also completely normal.

So how do you find that network?

Start by going to events where you can meet founders and people who think like you. Universities and smaller local events are perfect for that. Just Google your city + “Startup Event” and maybe add the month.

You’ll be surprised how many things are happening around you.

When you attend these meetings, talk with people. Ask questions. Be genuinely interested in what others are doing. Try to understand their projects, their challenges, their goals. And most importantly—don’t expect too much! Building relationships takes time.

Here’s my personal secret:

try to think about how you could help these people. Maybe you can share your knowledge. Maybe you know someone who could help them—“I know someone who knows someone.”

Try to help at least one person per event. It can be something small: a quick message on LinkedIn, a short email, an introduction.

And then—wait and let the magic happen.

Because real networking isn’t about what you can get.

It’s about what you can give

Try it at the next event.

Best,

Bartosz
